Childhood
My painting was inspired by the once very closed and one of the most unknown countries in Asia - Myanmar (Burma). In December 2019, I went on a trip to this country. I wanted to understand and feel Burma, and not just be a tourist with a camera. I traveled by train and bus with the locals. On my way I met a lot of smiling and friendly people who became my friends. My heart was moved by the fact that, despite all the troubles that happened to these people, they continue to smile at this world and try to be happy.
Residents of Southeast Asia often send their children to temples. Children do not necessarily become monks. Several years spent in the monastery provide these children with education, food and a roof over their heads. Children's responsibilities include helping the monks collect donations for their monastery. Very often we can see groups of monk boys busily scurrying around the city or walking along roads with pitchers for alms. But how to keep the boys from adventure? As soon as they are left unattended by the elders, they become ordinary children. They sincerely rejoice in the world around them. Find their little secrets in it. They are friends and quarreling, reconciling and playing. Trying to understand how this world works. They see the beauty of the world with clean eyes and believe in miracles. And after how many years, they will enter the world of adults with strong and bright people.
