The picture "Lovers" is perceived as a kind of puzzle that requires a solution. The lovers have closed eyes - their heads are wrapped in cloth, which brings to mind another metaphor - "losing your head from love." This gives rise to new associations: love is not just blind, it deprives a person of the ability to think clearly. Lovers not only do not notice the world around them, but also do not see each other.
