Yurii Tsukanov born August 10, 1951, Ivano-Frankivsk. In 1953 moved to Kirovohrad with parents. Studied in comprehensive school №23. In 1961, due to some family circumstances, moved to Izmail. Continued studying in school №2 and in 1967 entered vocational school (GPTU) № 6 as a 1st class marine motorist. In 1969 successfully graduated. When received a diploma, he was immediately sent to work on aboard ships of the Soviet-Danube line. During staying in different European and Asian countries he admired the landscapes. This was later reflected in his paintings, which he created throughout his life. Creative activity as an amateur artist began in 1984. The artist works in the field of easel painting in the genre of landscape, portrait and still life, uses various techniques of oil painting on canvas. In 1986 moved to Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region. Participant in group and solo art exhibitions and festivals. Works are kept in private and museum collections in Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Canada, Poland, South Africa, USA.
